Our Philosophy

At Paradigm CrossFit, we are different. We are not a "gym" - we are a fitness community and a School of Elite Fitness. There are many gyms out there that lay the claim of "doing CrossFit" - but just like "working with a trainer" - what does that really mean? It goes far beyond just doing "Crossfit-esque" high intensity movements. Paradigm CrossFit is a place where you WILL be touched, and it is our contention that we want to change your life. We recognize that YOU, the client, are our walking billboard and our current resume. If people's jaws don't drop after you've been working with us consistently, then we have failed.

We want to earn your business, and the business of the people closest to your life to further develop our fitness community. Our class sizes are small which allows there to be a high level of integrity with our coaching, and we maintain a good trainer to member ratio at around 12:1 at the most. If ever the class sizes get bigger (which they generally do not) we will have multiple coaches.

Safety is top priority at our gym. We teach ALL new members individually the basics foundational movements of CrossFit. We also test you on the movements after we teach you. Yes, a test like multiple choice and fill in the blank. We set our bar higher than most, and we know that the long term benefit of our clients are worth it.

There's a fine line between being a coach and being a cheerleader, and we recognize that at times, a good coach needs to be both. We define a coach as someone who is vested in the progress of their athlete. When you come to class, you will be coached, you will make progress as an athlete. At times, you will need someone in your corner cheering you on as you cross through the finish line, we will be that too. We are a husband and wife team that refuses to water down our services to appeal to the masses- we have specially designed our program to filter in a special kind of client; one that appreciates excellence within all dynamics of our CrossFit gym; coaching, programming, cleanliness, equipment, community, and of course, member experience.

World Class Fitness in 100 Words

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat.
Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and ****. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast.
Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense.
Regularly learn and play new sports.

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit's mission is to forge elite fitness. And the world is watching as that happens! CrossFit began as a training regimen for Navy Seals. Now, in addition to being widely used with the military and athletes, its methods are bringing people from all generations to superior fitness levels. CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program. It prescribes constantly varied, high-intensity, functional movement. You can expect the unexpected with your workouts. Rather than a specialized fitness program, CrossFit optimizes physical competence within each of the ten fitness domains: Cardiovascular and Respiratory endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy. CrossFit training blends Olympic Lifting, strength training, gymnastics and different types of cardiovascular training with varied distances to guarantee training exposure within each of the three metabolic pathways.
As Glassman (CrossFit founder) states, "Blur the distinction between strength training and metabolic conditioning for the simple reason that nature's challenges are typically blind to the distinction".

CrossFit is designed for universal scalability, making it applicable to anyone with commitment and determination, regardless of current fitness levels or past experiences. While it continues to be the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and military special operations, it's efficacy is not restricted to a certain population. The types of people who have distinguished themselves through the CrossFit program range across the spectrum - including housewives, youth, elderly, fire fighters, as well as elite athletes worldwide .

“The needs of an Olympic athlete and our grandparents differ by degree not kind.  One is looking for functional dominance, the other for functional competence”.  –Glassman
